How to configure Search Service SharePoint 2010
This article describes the process of deploying the search service application features for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2010 that are related to crawling content.
Environment
1. Active Directory Windows Server 2008 R2
2. SharePoint Server 2010 SP2
3. SQL Server 2008 R2
In my labs I use account : nikon\administrator is system account for sharepoint 2010
How to configure Search Service Application SharePoint2010
1. Log in Central admin > Application Management > Manage service application
2. New Icon on left menu >Search Service Application
3. Fill infomations.
Name : Search service Application
FAST Service Application : None
Search service Account : I use account system account .
Application Pool for Search admin web services.
Create new application pool : Search admin pool
Configurable : I use account system account (Nikon\administrator)
Application Pool for Search Query and site setting web service
Create new application pool : Search Query Pool
Configurable : System account
Check information again and Click OK
4. Check service Search in Manage service on server
Check Service SharePoint Server Search is Started.
In mange service application , Please check name Service Search is Started.
Check Windows Services : SharePoint server Search 14 is Started.
You must check all service search before configure Search Service SharePoint.
Before you crawler Sharepoint you must disable loopback check on farm server sharepoint2010.
and check your account have full Control and Full read in your web application.
5.
Go to Application Management > Mange service Application > click on link Search service application
Now you have page admin console setup Search SharePoint
Click menu > content source and new content source
6. Fill you name content source .
type of content : Choose you type.
My labs I must test crawler site Sharepoint
type start Address : your web application sharepoint for your crawler.
And start manual for crawler or schedule time .
7. On page admin ; Wait for crawler Site SharePoint
And monitor System status.
8. In my site collection > site action > New Site
I have create site template Enterprise Search center.
If you don’t see Enterprise Search Center , Please follow this step.
Go to site collection administration > Site Collection feature..
Active SharePoint Service Publishing Infrastructure
and go to Site Actions > Manage site feature
Active Sharepoint server Publishing
return to create new site again.
It very easy configure search service application for SharePoint 2010 .
