Enable Developer Dashboard in SharePoint 2010

Enable Developer Dashboard in SharePoint 2010

The developer dashboard is a new feature in SharePoint 2010 . Is design to provide additional performance and tracing information that can be used to debug and troubleshoot issues with page rendering time.

By default Developer dashboard is turned off  but can enabled on command stsadm or PowerShell SharePoint2010.

stsadm command
go to in command :  %COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\microsoft shared\web server extensions\14\bin
Stsadm –o setproperty –pn developer-dashboard –pv ondemand ( “on” or “off”)
Example : Stsadm –o setproperty –pn developer-dashboard –pv ondemand on
Command will enable the Developer Dashboard in On Demand mode.

 PowerShell SharePoint2010
Open SharePoint Powershell run as administrator
NEW: Turn On for on Demain Mode
$service = [Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPWebService]::ContentService
$addsetting =$service.DeveloperDashboardSettings
$addsetting.DisplayLevel = [Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPDeveloperDashboardLevel]::OnDemand
$addsetting.Update()

Command will enable the Developer Dashboard in On Demand mode.
I recommend for use command turn on Developer Dashboard in On Demand mode.  Developer Dashboard cannot show for user it show only site collection admin .
However , I like use  Developer Dashboard and software Fiddler for monitor time page load in SharePoint 2010.
